So I'd like to officially welcome everyone to our shiny new home! Because facebook turned out to be a bit cluttered (and by a bit I mean ridiculously) we thought this would be a more organized setting for planning and execution.
I know that some people are not totally comfortable with using messageboards, but please don't let this keep you from participating. If you have any questions, you can ask me or mostly likely any of the other Paracadets. We'll always be willing to help as we want everyone to have the same opportunity to participate in the awesomeness we will create.
So now I'd like to take a minute to explain the set up of the PBoards (I like this name as it is short for Paracadet Boards, Prodution Boards, OR Proboards, hah. Plus it will help distinguish talk about these boards from the actual OK Go boards.)
If you have an idea for a video, or even an inkling of an idea, feel free to create a thread for it in the Ideas, Concepts, and Suggestions board. Starting threads on this board is open to all members so any Paracadet can brainstorm.
Once an idea has been officially given the green light (meaning enough of us like it and we think it's doable, so we decide to produce it), one of the ParacaDuces will create a thread for it in the Pre-Production board. This is where we discuss details on the script, decide who will write the script, and edit the script until we think it's ready to be made! Only ParacaDuces will be able to make threads here, just so that we make sure it doesn't get cluttered. Everyone will be able to reply to threads, though.
As soon as the script is finished and we set out to film (or whatever we need to do) the project, one of the ParacaDuces will create a thread for it in the Production board. Here, we will discuss the logistics of who will be filming (or whatever) which portions, when the deadlines will be, and who will eventually be editing the video. Only ParacaDuces will be able to make threads here, just so that we make sure it doesn't get cluttered. Everyone will be able to reply to threads, though.
Once we have finished filming (etc, etc) a project and all the parts have been sent to the editor, we will have any final discussions about it in its thread in the Post-Production board. If people have ideas on how it should be edited, the pacing, or anything like that, here is where those ideas should go. Only ParacaDuces will be able to make threads here, just so that we make sure it doesn't get cluttered. Everyone will be able to reply to threads, though.
Aside from that, there are the announcement, questions, and discussion boards. Those are pretty self-explanatory, I think. Announcements won't get much use, Questions is there for...well anybody's questions, and Discussion is there for whatever. I've allowed guest posting in the discussion board so that anyone, even people who don't want to be Paracadets but see our videos and happen to want to navigate over here and comment on them, can discuss whatever it is we end up making.
I hope you followed all that! It's simple, I promise.
